Transitioning Ministry: God is forever, our vocation is not

2 Kings 2:1-18

Full Service

There must be more than this???

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’” Matt 7:21-23

“Where now is the Lord, the God of Elijah?” 2 Kgs 2:14

What did Elisha do that we need to do?
1. Elisha didn’t give up (2-6)

Four types of people here today

4. I’m not giving up

What did Elisha do that we need to do?
2. Elisha looked up (11-12)

What did Elisha do that we need to do?
Elisha picked up what God provided (vs 13)

What did Elisha do that we need to do?
Elisha spoke up (16)

Are you stuck?

Do you doubt God can work, and you feel like you want to give up?

Are you losing sight of what is true and real because your eyes are fixed on the wrong things?

Are your hands full with things that hurt and hinder?

Are you asking, “Is there more than this?”

If you can say “yes” to any of these questions- something needs to change.

- Some of us are missing out on what the Lord has in store for us.
- Some of us need to make some serious changes.
- Some of us will ignore this message- and nothing will change.
- Don’t let that be you.
