Building on God’s Faithfulness by Celebrating what God has Restored | Giving to God

    Nehemiah 11-12

How Did They Celebrate What God Had Restored?

    I. They Gave Themselves to God.

    a. Their physical presence in the city was important.
    b. It showed support, trust, obedience, and a commitment to furthering God’s kingdom rather than their own kingdom.
    c. It involved sacrifice.

We Must Give Ourselves to God

Every act of giving ourselves to God is significant to God

II. They Gave Their Praise to God.

    a. They purified themselves, the people, and the gates and walls.
    b. They planned a processional of praise around the city.
    c. Everyone participated.

We Must Give Our Praise to God

All of us – not just the choir, not just the worship team - there should be no spectators

III. They Gave Their Gifts to God.

    a. Sacrificial giving by the people to support the worship of God.

We Must Give Our Gifts to God

Not out of obligation, but freely, joyfully supporting the work of the church, God’s instrument for the proclamation of the Gospel

Reflection: Are you giving to God?

Are you giving your Gifts to God?

Are you giving your Praise to God?

Are you giving Yourself to God?
