THE WORK OF CHRIST

To do God’s will (Jn. 6:37-40)

To make it possible for people to have their lives CHANGED.

1. To seek and to save what was lost (Lk. 19:10)—CHANGED HEARTS

From spiritually dead (Eph.2:1) --> burning passion (Lk. 24:32; 2 Cor. 5:17)

Evidence of salvation—

A Radical Worldview Change!

2. To redeem us from the curse of the law (Gal. 3:13) – CHANGED LIFESTYLE

From slaves to sin (Rom. 6:6) --> freed from sin (Rom. 6:7; 1 Jn. 3:2-10)

By hanging on “the tree”, Jesus took our curse and became our scapegoat so we could be blessed and welcome to stay in the city of God.

Only Christians are FREE!!

3. To destroy the works of the devil (1 Jn. 3:8; Heb. 2:14-15) – CHANGED DESTINY

From the fear of death and sentence to Hell (Jn. 5:29; Matt 25:46) --> life everlasting (Jn. 3:16; 5:24; 10:10,28)

Once the wages of sin (death) had been paid, those in Christ Jesus our Lord receive the gift of God (eternal life) [Rom. 6:23]. Death came by sin (Rom. 5:12); sins forgiven renders death powerless (1 Cor. 15:56-57).

Death can no longer be the destiny of the Christian!
